The 2012 Banger from Atomic is one of two super-high end go-anywhere, do-anything types of boards. The Banger is the tapered, off-piste specific one of the two (if you're looking for a more twin-tip shape look at Atomic's Alibi--thats the other beastmode Pro-status board from Atomic). Adding to that tapered shape is Atomic's Pop Rocker Freeride is a super fast base and a pretty aggressive (stiff) flex, which make this board capable of disposing of any terrain anywhere. Are you?

Have 10-11 Banger in 164 excellent board easy quick turning very stable decent float like the board alot but thought it could use a narrower stance a little more setback & more rocker. Great on pow & hard pack. it's a carving machine.I Just purchased this board 11-12 Banger in a 162. appears it has quite a bit more rocker kick and much longer starting out much earlier in the nose than prior year but appears to have plenty of + camber under foot for stability, grip & strong carving maybe a slight bit more set back the the 10-11. Haven't tried it yet but I like what I see. still would like to see narrower stance though.I am only 5'8" 135 lbs like longer boards for better float in the pow ;however, after looking at the increased rocker in this 11-12 board thinking maybe 158 would have worked better hard to sayWill report back when I have a chance to ride.Update 3-23-13 Glad I got the 162, the more I ride this board the more I like it 27" Pow day highlight link below copy & paste to browser for a look[...]
